From December 2 to 6, AWS re:Invent 2024, the world’s largest cloud computing event, took place in Las Vegas. Now in its 13th year, the conference gathers IT experts, developers, and industry leaders to explore the latest in cloud innovation.
Flitto participated in AWS re:Invent as part of the K-SaaS Pavilion, representing Korea’s innovative SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) companies. Supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT and NIPA, the booth showcased Flitto’s advanced AI interpretation solutions.

Amazon Nova Foundation Models
Amazon Nova is a new generation of foundation models available exclusively in Amazon Bedrock. It offers advanced intelligence and high price performance for a wide range of generative AI tasks. It includes two model categories: Amazon Nova understanding models that accept text, image, or video inputs to generate text output, and Amazon creative content generation models that accept text and image inputs to generate image or video output.
AWS EC2 Trn2 Instances and UltraServers
Amazon EC2 Trn2 instances, powered by Trainium2 chips, offer faster and more cost-effective AI model training. Trn2 UltraServers connect multiple instances for even greater performance, boosting training speed and real-time AI response times.
Amazon Bedrock Model Distillation
Amazon Bedrock Model Distillation allows users to use smaller, faster, and more cost-effective models with nearly the same accuracy as larger ones. These models are up to 500% faster and 75% cheaper. With Model Distillation, customers can select a ‘teacher’ model whose accuracy they want to achieve for their use-case and then select a ‘student’ model that they want to fine-tune.
Flitto at AWS re:Invent 2024
At AWS re:Invent 2024, Flitto joined the K-SaaS booth alongside seven other companies, showcasing its AI language solutions all supported by AWS infrastructure. Visitors had the opportunity to explore three innovative services: Live Translation (an AI interpretation solution for global conferences), Chat Translation (a multi-user conversational AI interpretation solution), and Chat Translation Enterprise (a 1:1 conversational AI interpretation solution using transparent displays). A key highlight was the chance to experience Flitto’s upcoming service, Chat Translation. It offers exceptional accessibility by enabling users to engage via their personal devices.

At AWS re:Invent, Flitto received an enthusiastic response from visitors who shared personal experiences that highlighted the persistent language barriers they face. One French attendee mentioned the challenges of holding meetings with colleagues at their Japan office due to language differences. Similarly, a Swiss participant recalled difficulties holding a conference in Brazil, where many locals struggled to understand English. These conversations reinforced the need for Flitto’s solutions in diverse business settings.

This year alone, Flitto achieved $5 million in experts, receiving an award from the Korea International Trade Association. This milestone follows steady growth, from $1 million in 2020 to $3 million in 2022. A significant portion of these exports comes from language data, as Flitto regularly supplies biggest global technology companies including Microsoft, Amazon, and Samsung, with language data, tailored to their needs.
